DHVSU welcomes 72 new employees
The Don Honorio Ventura State University (DHVSU) took a step in empowering its workforce as the Human Resource Management Unit of the Administrative Services Office conducted an orientation program for the 72 newly hired employees at the University Auditorium on September 7.
The comprehensive orientation covered significant topics that will guide employees in their roles and responsibilities within the institution. These included the policy on attendance and punctuality, rules and regulations governing government workers, auxiliary services, gender and development, data privacy, health and safety protocols, security measures, as well as traffic rules and regulations, and an emphasis was placed on energy efficiency and conservation to promote sustainable practices within the university.
Before the end of the program, Debbie Ann Fatima N. Barrera, the Supervising Administrative Officer, led the oath-taking of the newly hired employees.

BAC office conducts re-orientation on procurement procedures
To ensure efficiency in procurement processes, the Bids and Awards Committee (BAC) of Don Honorio Ventura State University organized a re-orientation session at the University Hostel on August 31.
The activity is conducted annually through the leadership of University President Dr. Enrique G. Baking to reacquaint participants from various units of DHVSU with the essential components of Republic Act 9184 and the Government Procurement Policy Board (GPPB) guidelines.
Dr. Ranie B. Canlas, Chair of the BAC, led the event, emphasizing the significance of adhering to established procedures to maintain the integrity of the procurement process.
Representatives from various university offices, including Director Mair S. De Lara (Supply and Property), Dr. Dolores T. Quiambao (Gender and Development), Joseph Ian P. Guintu (Accounting), Director Luis M. Lansang (Finance), and Agnes Pelayo (Cashiering), were invited to share their insights and provide reminders to the participants.
DHVSU executives, including Dr. Baking and OIC-Executive Vice President Reden M. Hernandez, were also present to deliver their messages and statements of purpose.

Nagdaos kahapon ng aktibidad ang Bachelor of Elementary Education Club sa DHVSU – College of Education lobby na tinawag na “Malikhaing Paglikha ng BEEdila.”
Sa pagdiriwang ng Buwan ng Wika, nagtagpo ang mga mag-aaral mula sa mga programang Bachelor of Elementary Education (BEED) at Bachelor of Early Childhood Education (BECEd) upang ipamalas ang kanilang natatanging kasanayan sa sining ng pagguhit at pagsusulat. Sa pamamagitan ng paggamit ng mga materyales tulad ng lapis, tinta, at tela, ipinakita ng mga kalahok ang kanilang pagkamalikhain at kakayahan sa pagsasalaysay ng kwento sa pamamagitan ng kanilang mga likha.
Sa pagninilay-nilay at masusing pagsusuri, nabigyang-buhay ng mga mag-aaral ang kanilang mga ideya at damdamin sa mga likhang-sining na kanilang nilikha. Nagpamalas sila ng diwa ng pagkakaisa at pagmamahal sa sining bilang isang paraan ng pagsasalaysay ng kanilang pagpapahalaga sa Buwan ng Wika.
Sa kabuuan, ito'y isang pagdiriwang kung saan pinalamas ng mga mag-aaral mula sa mga programang BEEd at BECEd ang kanilang husay at talento sa sining na nagpapakita ng mas
malalim na pag-unawa sa kultura at wika ng bansa.

DHVSU promotes disaster resilience with BICS training
In observance of the National Disaster Resilience Month and in line with the theme "BIDANG Pilipino: Building a Stronger Filipino Well-being towards Disaster Resilience," the Don Honorio Ventura State University (DHVSU) – University Occupational Safety and Health Office (UOSHO) conducted the Basic Incident Command System (BICS) Training at the University Hostel's Multi- Purpose Function Hall from July 5 to 7, 2023.
The training was organized by the Occupational Safety and Health Office, led by Director Rhiziel P. Manalese, in collaboration with the Planning Office, headed by Director Eddiebal P. Layco, and the Administrative Services Office, headed by Director Anna C. Dayrit.
It aimed to equip university action officers from various divisions, departments, and campuses with the knowledge and skills to effectively respond to emergencies and manage disaster incidents by explaining the background and overview of ICS, describing the ICS organization and facilities, and understanding the principles of management.
The training emphasized the use of ICS in crafting the DHVSU-Incident Action Plan, conducting operation period briefings, and managing planned events and major incidents.
Ms. Estella Marie S. Mallari, Mr. Reymond Allan O. Santos, Mr. Francis G. Pangilinan, Mr. Gerardo A. Calimoso, and Mr. Resty Astrero from the Office of Civil Defense Region III served as guest speakers and performers during the training. Their expertise and insights added value to the learning experience of the 34 participants who successfully completed the course.

The University Occupational Safety and Health Office (UOSHO) took significant steps towards building a stronger Filipino well-being and disaster resilience by organizing a four-day training on Basic Life Support and Standard First Aid held at the University Hostel, Multi-purpose Function Hall and CEA Extension Building last July 10 to 13.
The training is a collaboration between the Occupational Safety and Health Office, led by its Director Rhiziel P. Manalese, and the Administrative Services Office, headed by Director Anna C. Dayrit. With the theme "BIDANG Pilipino: Building a Stronger Filipino Well-being towards Disaster Resilience," UOSHO actively participated in the nationwide celebration of National Disaster Resilience Month this July.
The training aimed to equip participants, including OSHO Focal Persons, Security Personnel, and OSH Volunteers, with essential knowledge, skills, and attitudes to perform basic life support techniques and standard first aid confidently.
The comprehensive agenda included lectures and demonstrations on basic life support, standard first aid, bandaging and splinting, and emergency scenarios where the participants engaged in demonstrations to ensure they could effectively handle incidents and casualties.
Through this initiative, UOSHO aims to foster a culture of safety and preparedness in the university, thereby reducing accidents and injuries by equipping the university personnel with essential first-aid knowledge.
The sessions are led by the facilitators and trainers from the Department of Health Central Luzon Center for Health Development and Pampanga Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO).
