Brief History of the DHVSU Lubao Campus

        September 27, 1996 saw the beginning of the DHVSU Lubao Campus when the Governing Board of the Don Honorio Ventura State University, then still named the Don Honorio Ventura College of Arts and Trades, approved the opening of a relocation site in Kabuhayan Village, Lubao, Pampanga.  After a few years of operation, however, the new campus was closed for an indefinite period due to conflicts concerning the lot on which it stands.

        On October 4, 2010, the DHVSU Board of Regents approved the reopening of the Lubao Campus and thus resumed operations.  The University entered into a Memorandum of Agreement with the Provincial Government of Pampanga under the leadership of Governor Lilia G. Pineda. 

Another agreement between the Municiality of Lubao, represented by Mayor Mylyn P. Cayabyab, and the University ensued on October 30, 2017, legitimately allowing DHVSU to use four parcels of land situated in Sta. Catalina, Lubao, Pampanga. The land was to be used for construction of school buildings for a period of 25 years.

In 2018, through a new memorandum of agreement, the University and the Provincial Government of Pampanga embarked on a joint program to govern the DHVSU Lubao Campus.

The inauguration of the campus was held on May 2, 2018 with House Speaker Gloria M. Arroyo, former Congresswoman of the Second District of Pampanga, as one of the benefactors. Aside from Rep. Arroyo, then-Pampanga Governor Lilia G. Pineda graced the occasion along with officials from the Pampanga Provincial Capitol and Lubao Municipality, as well as the DHVSU Administrative Council.

In June 2019, a revocation of the October 2017 agreement commenced, where the Municipality of Lubao, represented by Mayor Cayabyab as the Donor, officially donated to the University the four parcels of land in Sta. Catalina, Lubao.

The logo is designed to be the visual representation of its beloved University and the Municipality of Lubao, Pampanga. Colors used in this mark induce valiance, goodness, strength and passion, while significantly displaying its belongingness to the Municipality. The Bamboo, Palay and Sampaguita depict the town of Lubao, known for its unique features such as fertile green fields lined with forests and mangroves.

The Gear signifies industry and technology, which is considered as the flagship of the University in the attainment of its feat. The continuous turn invites discovery, investigation and inventions into the realm of research and ever-changing technology.

The Colored Books imply the different programs that the University offers its clientele, the students.

Autonomy, unity and equality, ideals that the University and the Campus promote, are represented by the Dove. The Sun depicts new beginnings and optimism. The Rope, on the other hand, illustrates the ties that bind Honorians in loyalty and valor to safeguard the Alma Mater in a continuous manner, represented through the emblem’s round form.
