RMO conducts 4th mentoring session, empowers researchers for academic writing
The Research Management Office (RMO) of Don Honorio Ventura State University (DHVSU) once again organized a Mentoring Session to provide researchers with valuable recommendations, ensuring scholarly writing and enhancing their papers before presenting in the University In- House Review.
In its fourth season, the mentoring sessions were held on October 24, 25, and November 6, 2023, via Zoom Meeting.
The sessions covered various fields of study, each led by a distinguished mentor:
Dr. Joel Torres, a Full Professor 3 from Central Luzon State University, presided over the Language/Culture/Gender/Education session.
Dr. Verjun J. Dilla, an Associate Professor from Central Luzon State University, mentored the Education and Pedagogy-Cluster 1 session.
Dr. Neil Stephen A. Lopez, an Associate Professor in the Mechanical Engineering Department at Gokongwei College of Engineering, De La Salle University, led the Science, Technology, and Engineering session.
Dr. Jean Paolo Lacap, the OIC President and concurrent Vice President for Research, Extension, and Quality Assurance at City College of Angeles, guided the Business and Social Science session.
Dr. Ryan Michael Oducado, the Research Director at West Visayas State University, supervised the Education and Pedagogy-Cluster 2 session. A total of 60 papers were presented during the sessions, including 18 completed research outputs and 42 research proposals.
Led by Dr. Robin Dimla, director of RMO, the event aimed to identify areas of improvement and provide researchers with substantial recommendations following the standards for publication in Scopus/WOS-indexed journals.

Seminar on thesis advising empowers engineering instructors
The Research Management Office (RMO) of Don Honorio Ventura State University hosted an informative seminar for select engineering faculty on Thesis Advising for Engineering Students. The seminar took place at the University Hostel on August 3rd.
The seminar covered a diverse range of topics designed to equip the participants with the knowledge and skills required to excel in their roles as research advisers for their students.
Dr. Neil Stephen Lopez, from the Gokongwei College of Engineering at De La Salle University, served as the event's resource speaker. He emphasized policy research and current trends in the research ecosystem.
Faculty members from various College of Engineering and Architecture departments attended the event. These include the Civil Engineering Department, Electrical Engineering Department, Electronics Engineering Department, Computer Engineering Department, Industrial Engineering Department, Mechanical Engineering Department, and Lubao Campus.

RMO equips HEMSS faculty for effective thesis advising
To provide faculty members with improved skills for supervising student theses, the Don Honorio Ventura State University - Research Management Office (RMO) organized a seminar on thesis advising for select disciplines within Humanities, Education, Management, and Social Sciences (HEMSS). The event was held at the University Hostel on July 13.
Led by Dr. Feorillo A. Demetrio III, Executive Director of the Research and Grants Management Office at De La Salle University, as the seminar's resource speaker, the RMO aligned the activity with the priority areas outlined in the University Research Manual.
The seminar covered key topics such as an overview of the research ecosystem, qualitative and quantitative analysis, as well as workshops on research problem formulation and methodology.
Participants in the seminar included faculty members from various campuses and colleges, encompassing Apalit Campus, Lubao Campus, Porac Campus, Candaba Campus, Mexico Campus, Sto. Tomas Campus, College of Social Sciences and Philosophy, Graduate School, College of Education, Senior High School, Laboratory High School, College of Arts and Sciences, and College of Hospitality and Tourism Management.
“This activity has enlightened me regarding the framework of a research university. I now appreciate the value of collaboration, not only with fellow researchers but also with my students in the realm of research,” said Cailvin Reyes, one of the participants from Porac campus.

CSSP students present research at Asian Conference
The DHVSU Psychology Society proudly presents the two group presenters from DHVSU 4th year BS in Psychology students of the College of Social Sciences and Philosophy (CSSP) who joined the 15th Biennial Conference of the Asian Association of Social Psychology (AASP). The said conference of the AASP 2023 was organized and held in Hong Kong in hybrid mode by the Department of Psychology at the Education University of Hong Kong from July 13-15, 2023.
With the theme “Asian Social Psychology in the Face of Global Challenges: Achievements and Opportunities,” the selected delegates presented their research to pave their way to understand how people and groups deal with these changes and what they mean for society in its entirety that has been a goal of social psychology. This conference deliberates on the advancements achieved in the field and looks at the prospects these changes offer for psychological study in accordance with EdUHK.
The 1st thesis presentation from the delegates of the DHVSU Department of Psychology was under the session entitled “Development and Revision of Psychological Measurements”. The brave souls presented their thesis entitled “Philippine Test Adaptation and Translation of the Tendency to Gossip Questionnaire” with their selected speaker, Rowel C. Buan. Their presentation was held on July 13, 2023, from 2:40 PM to 3:55 PM. In line with this thesis presentation are the following authors:
Rowel Buan, Marc Chester Go, Kristine Joy Halili, Martin Joshua Mamauag, Harolyn Manansala, Marco Frank Poblete, and Mr. Arold Parungao.
Following, the 2nd thesis presentation from the delegates of the DHVSU Department of Psychology was under the session entitled “Psychology of Personality”. These brave souls also presented their thesis entitled “Multivariate Analysis of Ghosting, Neuroticism, and Self-Confidence Among Kapampangan Adults” with their selected speaker, Ezekiel S. Lapira. Their presentation was held on July 15, 2023, from 10:35 AM to 11:50 AM. In line with this thesis presentation are the following authors: Ezekiel S. Lapira, Trisha Dane C. Aguas, Kristine Kyla D. The 14th University In-House Review was held ln March 21-22, 2019 at the DHVTSU Multi-Purpose Hall's Executive Lounge where a total of 27 research proposals and 14 completed researches were presented.
DICE 2019 - March 7-8, 2019
On March 7 to 9, 2019, the University held the DHVTSU Invention, Contest and Exhibits at the University Auditorium with the theme: Integrating the Elements of Novelty- A Transformative Breakthrough on Life’s Processess. Supported by the Department of Science and Technology - region III, the event was participated in by students from different colleges and campuses of the University. A total of 70 research projects were exhibited while 54 research papers were presented through posters.

As the Research and Development Service Office attempts to gain footing the in the local research and development arena, it is proud to have a very productive 2018. This year, the unit has managed to have three University In-House Reviews. There were a total of fifty-six (59) research proposals and thirty- seven (34) completed researches presented in University In-House Reviews for the fiscal year 2018. These numbers summarizes a mix of STE and HEMSS researches.
