VISION
The RMO envisions to be the center for knowledge-generation and technology development in the region toward the improvement of the individual’s living condition globally.
MISSION
The RDSO is committed to undertake and promote relevant scientific researches in Science, Technology, Education, Engineering, Humanities, and the Arts needed for the development and progress of the university and its beneficiary communities.
GOALS
- Development, utilization and promotion of new knowledge in Science, Technology, Education, Engineering, Humanities, Arts and other fields among the university’s colleges and campuses ;
- Effective transfer of the newly developed knowledge and technologies in improving the quality of life in areas that it serves;
- Creation of a progressive research culture, which encourages scholarly and scientific researches;
- Intellectual property application, registration and commercialization of completed R & D projects; and
- Reinforcement of DHVSU linkages through timely and relevant research and development programs.
OBJECTIVES
- To set the R & D directions and structure toward science and technology;
- To develop the research capabilities of faculty members;
- To establish research linkages for funding assistance;
- To utilize resources in all the colleges and campuses of the University for production, income-generation, and sustainability;
- To strengthen the existing curricular programs through student and faculty researches;
- To effectively transfer developed knowledge and matured technologies to industries and rural communities; and
- To undertake research studies based on the R & D Agenda of the University , Commission on Higher Education (CHED) ,
- Department of Science and Technology (DOST), and other government agencies/institutions.
Programs and Service Strategies
Programs and Service StrategiesThe RDSO seeks to accomplish its own vision, mission, goals and objectives by employing the following strategies:
- Formulate, implement, monitor, and evaluate the university R & D agenda;
- Set the standard format for research writing across disciplines in compliance with the internationally accepted publishable style;
- Conduct continuous orientations, trainings, seminar-workshops and other research related capability-building activities for faculty, personnel and students;
- Source out technical and funding assistance from DOST, CHED and other local and foreign agencies;
- Utilize research outputs for production and income- generating projects for the university;
- Strengthen the research review process to improve research outputs for dissemination to end users;
- Transfer developed knowledge and matured technologies to the university and its beneficiary communities;
- Facilitate publication, patent and/or copyright of completed researches.

The research agenda are based on the priority areas of the CHED-NHERA 2 (2009 - 2018), Philippine Development Plan (2017 – 2022), Research and Development, and Extension Agenda and Programs (RDEAP 2016 – 2022, Department of Agriculture), DOST Harmonized National Research and Development Agenda (2017 – 2022), and Philippine National Health Research System Agenda (2017 – 2022).
It is stated in the University Research Manual revision 2019 (page 10) that each college/campus/unit is encouraged to submit research proposals congruent, but not limited, to the following priority research areas and topics:
- Education and Pedagogy - Program/Curricular Studies in Higher Education, Policy-Oriented Studies, Tracer Study;
- Health Science and Allied Medical Science -Policy-Oriented Studies, Food Safety and Security;
- Hospitality, Tourism, Business, and Management - Policy-Oriented Studies, Manpower Demand/Tracer Study, Quality Assurance System, Business/Enterprise Development;
- Technology, Engineering and Architecture - Renewable Energy Source, Pollution Control and Environment, Climate Change Mitigation and Disaster Risk Management, Materials Science and Engineering, Information and Communication Technology, Policy-Oriented Studies, and
