Following the successful welcome for new employees, the Administrative Services Office conducted another orientation on August 13 for its workforce, this time for those who have been newly-promoted.
Of the 36 newly-promoted employees, 18 belong to the teaching force while the remaining 18 are members of the non-academic personnel.
The half-day orientation opened with welcome remarks by Engr. Reden M. Hernandez, Vice President for Academic Affairs, followed by an inspirational message from the University President, Dr. Enrique G. Baking.
This was immediately followed by a thorough explanation of the Omnibus Rules on Appointments and Other Human Resource Actions (amended on July 2018) carried out by Ms. Mely G. Liangco, Human Resource Management Officer of the University.
Next to take the podium was Mr. Jessie James G. Mallari, a personnel of the Human Resource Department, who discussed government working hours focusing on employees’ official time, daily time record, tardiness, undertime and loafing.
The newly-promoted employees were also briefed on matters pertaining to monetary (payroll, mandatory deductions, overtime, ETL, special classes and bonuses) and non-monetary (leave and service credits) salaries and benefits by Ms. Michelle R. Pineda, Mr. Laurence Caesar D. Soan, Ms. Rosalie D. Sampang, and Ms. Debbie Ann Fatima N. Barrera respectively.
Later, Ms. Rhea R. Lumanog shed light on other HR documents such as service records, certificate of employment and tax forms (BIR form 2316 or Income Tax Return).
Finally, Mrs. Anna C. Dayrit, the University’s Chief Administrative Officer, explained the Code of Conduct and Ethical Standards for Public Officials. Ms. Leah P. Cochon hosted the event.
