DHVSU prexy passes DC-SUC III - CIRPS chairmanship to CLSU

SCIENCE CITY OF MUÑOZ, Nueva Ecija - To sustain the initiatives of the Development Council-State Universities and Colleges (DC-SUC III) - Center for Interinstitutional Research and Policy Studies (CIRPS), the Don Honorio Ventura State University (DHVSU), led by its University President, Dr. Enrique G. Baking, officially marked the transfer of leadership to the outgoing President of Central Luzon State University (CLSU) and the newly appointed chair, Dr. Edgar A. Orden, in a ceremonial turnover held at CLSU Amphitheater on December 11, 2023.

The DHVSU delegation at the event with Dr. Baking included Dr. Eddiebal P. Layco, the Planning Office Director of DHVSU and outgoing Executive Director of DC-SUC III - CIRPS; Engr. Anna Liza C. Nacion, Knowledge Management and Innovation Office Director of DHVSU and treasurer of DC-SUC III – CIRPS; and Dr. Emmanuel Parreño, Quality and Management Systems Office Director of DHVSU and technical support for DC-SUC III – CIRPS.

The ceremony was attended by various university presidents of different State Universities and Colleges (SUCs) in Central Luzon, including Tarlac State University President, Dr. Arnold Velasco; Tarlac Agricultural University President, Dr. Max P. Guillermo; Nueva Ecija University of Science and Technology President, Dr. Feliciano Jacoba; Bulacan Agricultural State College President, Dr. Jameson H. Tan; Philippine Marine and Merchant Academy President, Commo Joel Abutal; Pampanga State Agricultural University President, Dr. Anita David; Bulacan State University President, Dr. Teody San Andres; Bataan Peninsula State University Vice-President for Academic Affairs, Rev. Fr. Edgardo S. Sigua,
and other key officials in the region.

Alongside the mentioned SUC presidents and technical staff, Dr. Baking and Dr. Layco took an oath for another two-year term with the organization, covering January 2024 to December 2025. Meanwhile, Ms. Lora L. Yusi, the OIC-Regional Director of the Commission on Higher Education Region 3, served as the guest speaker at the event. During her message to the participants, she encouraged the SUC presidents to boost the number of Centers of Excellence and Centers of Development, achieve a 100% Certificate of Program Compliance (COPC) rate in the region, and strive to reach SUC Level 5 status.
